One week to go

We are now vaccinated against all the diseases that we could be exposed to – including rabies (which is quite a process and expensive but cheaper than catching this horrible disease, but I hope the chances of being bitten are low. Monkeys are the most likely offenders, but anything bigger might result in other problems!! No vaccinations against elephant stomping yet!). Getting into packing for 10-30 degrees and winterising the house – lawns mown and garden weeded. Haircuts too.

Graeme (our host) has sent some background information on Gaborone and Botswana which is very comprehensive and something to fill in the hours on the journey. He will meet us at the airport and we will join a group of other Kiwis(?) for the first 3 days overcoming our jet lag and getting to know the city and game reserves nearby.

Looking forward to our first business class experience (courtesy of Craig!) for which we are most grateful: just a week away now. Next post will most likely be from Gaborone.
